Truck

I dreamed that for some reason somebody (I think it was Greg Ketter of DreamHaven) had a truck to sell, and I was being urged to buy it, along with Carolyn Ives Gilman (author of Halfway Human). It was an enormous truck that cost $100,000. I was torn: I know that people can fail to get ahead because they refuse to take financial risks. But I knew nothing about trucks and had never wanted to own one. Could I make money off of it? What questions should I ask to make sure it was a good deal? How would Carolyn and I go into business for ourselves as a trucking company?

I can't tell you how relieved I was to wake up this morning and discover I don't own a truck.

You have given me a wonderful moment of laughter in the midst of a frantically busy morning, and I thank you for it.

Indeed, it is most excellent, not owning a truck.

But the idea of you and Carolyn and over-the-road truckers is priceless!
