Really, it's insane.

Fiona has an afterschool meeting with the robotics team, so she'll be staying at school instead of bussing home. I get home from work at about 5:00 p.m. Then:

Robotics pot-luck at 5:40 - 6:40 p.m. Parents bring a hot dish and see what the kids have been building. Delia volunteered to make a cake when she gets home from school for our contribution.

Delia has karate class at 6:20. Will we be able to get her there in time? How do we get her home?

Precinct caucuses at 7:00 p.m. until whenever.

I have a karate class at 8:00 I probably won't be able to attend.

Then, I'm supposed to clean the dojo, starting at 9:00 p.m. This generally runs an hour and a half. If the caucus runs long, I might get out of there very late indeed.

In addition, this is the night before Delia's Learning Works application is due; I'd wanted to go over her essay again with her. When am I going to fit that in and still get her to bed on time??? Maybe we can squeeze in going over it again before leaving for the potluck.

Good thing the Girl Scouts meeting got cancelled.

Note to self: don't forget to to charge the phone and the Palm Pilot, since the battery is dead on both.

This is cool. Via Lifehacker. [[livejournal.com profile] lifehacker_rss:
Google Maps mashup Mezzoman finds the perfect meet-up point for two addresses by establishing the midpoint and suggesting restaurants by cuisine nearby. Finding a good meet-up spot can be a bit difficult, and at one point or another you've probably felt you're getting the short end of the stick by driving the lion's share of the distance to the meet-up point. Mezzoman aims to rid you of that headache, and suggests places you could meet and eat (or bowl) near that midpoint. The only feature missing is pins marking the two addresses you're starting from, but in all it's a simple webapp that does just what it says.

Well, I'm back from cleaning the dojo (I reek of Pine Sol), before that, the caucus, before that the robotics meeting/potluck. Man, what a huge turnout (um, the caucus, not cleaning the dojo). It was very exciting to see so many people. Minnesota Public Radio reported that the DFL caucuses had a turnout that may hit 200,000, which is around 11% of all eligible voters. I made up my mind just today, after combing several websites, and it was quite difficult. I think that I could vote for either candidate come November. It looks as though the Democratic fight will continue for several more months.

The Curse Breakers have released a new song, a free download (if you have a MySpace account): "Be My Dementor." Jessie has a terrific, smoky voice, and this one is a lot of rockin' fun. Not to mention, she's stupefyingly gorgeous and bears more than a passing resemblance to Lily Evans. You could imagine Severus Snape staying obsessed with those eyes for years:
