"'My idea of good company...is the company of clever, well-informed people, who have a great deal of conversation; that is what I call good company.' 'You are mistaken,' said he gently, 'that is not good company, that is the best.'"--- Jane Austen, Persuasion

This was an installation by glass artist Chihuly, called 'Joslyn Ice'. It was featured in the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, NE in 2000. . . . My mind keeps wanting to title the one picture "Children on the Half-Block". . . like fish, you know?
And speaking of fish, I don't know where this image came from -- a friend mailed it to me. But I immediately thought, "That's the fish! The one that was frozen into the iceblock! This is what happened, when it thawed out." Since I never would have had such a thought without reading your inspiring bits here, I felt honour-bound to offer the idea to you first.

I suppose I really ought to concede that I am interested in fantasy...
