I added up my mileage and realized I passed The Black Gate a week ago, on September 1. I am 194 miles past the Falls of Rauros.

I am now on the path south, but have not yet met up with Faramir's men.

This is absolutely apropos of nothing in this post. But I just finished The Wild Swans, and wrote about it. fairestcat said that you liked knowing how people felt about the book, so I thought I'd send you a link (http://www.livejournal.com/users/technocracygirl/303442.html).

I should note that I really did like the Eliza parts, but they didn't hit me nearly so much as the Elias parts. And it is a very good book.
