Happy Thanksgiving
Nov. 25th, 2004 11:23 pmWe went over to my sister Cindy's for dinner. My sister is a terrific cook, and the dinner was wonderful.
I'm thankful for:
My family, first and foremost. I have a strong marriage with a man I truly love, who puts up with me at my worst and loves me right back. He's a terrific father. I have children who have opened my life to a whole new set of experiences and who make me so proud and happy as I see them growing up. And my parents are still alive and healthy and I have great siblings, and I get along just fine with all of them
That I have a warm safe house (despite the mice) with my own office and gardens outside where I can plant flowers and vegetables.
That I have full time employment that pays pretty well, with health insurance
Friends! Friends who talk to me on the phone and comment back and forth on LJ, and who take me out to cool restaurants because they think I'd like to try something new, and who discuss interesting books and invite me to dinner and read my manuscripts and offer gardening tips and commiserate about politics
That I have my health and that I'm reasonably fit and that I have discovered the joys of exercising, and that I get to take karate
My computer, and all the joys of the Internet it opens up to me, esp. LiveJournal
That I have a book idea, a real book idea, and that it actually seems to be moving somewhere
The ability to read
The ability and right to speak my mind and vote for the people I believe in
A church that may be struggling, but seems to be doing a little bit better
Coffee and chocolate
That's what springs immediately to mind.
