I'm interested in the music of Dougie MacLean and Stan Rogers but don't have any of their albums. Which albums of theirs should I purchase to start, to get a good sampling of their music?
I'm going to loan my Stan CD (I just have "Home From Halifax) to sleigh (Honest; it's on my things-to-do list, Steve!), so borrow Joyce's or from someone else. "Home from Halifax" is a nice live album, sort of a Greatest Hits, though it has some songs I don't care for, and skips several I'd prefer.
Many people adore Stan's music, others hate it, others love his versions but hate the various covers or alternative performances that have been done. I'll be interested in hearing if you like it. (You've certainly heard some of his songs. "Barrett's Privateers" ring any bells?)
