For me, it's not giving to one person, and I am vehemently opposed to abusive relationships and pastors who encourage them. I've seen what that can do. It's an integral part of my faith to give to everyone as much as I can because God has granted me that ability and I should use it. It's...selflessness. I am not the important part of the equation. What I can do, what I can give, and the example I can set are the important parts. If it is my goal to become more like Christ and he gave everything he had to anyone who asked it of him, then I need to follow that. I cannot succeed, I am human. But I can try.
