That new church again
Feb. 10th, 2005 10:46 amI received a letter from them, telling me again what times their services run. The pastor added a personal note at the bottom saying, "Yes, this is a form letter, but I just wanted to say it was really enjoyable to talk to you. I hope to see you again and certainly look forward to meeting your daughters."
The girls are extremely intrigued. We are all impressed with this church's wooing skills.

It's entirely possible that they felt a connection to you, too - and who wouldn't? Yes, I know I'm not a Christian, but I've been in my share of church communities. Some you can just get a "feeling" about very quickly. Some take a little longer. Some come on very strong and turn out to be enthusiastic because there are hidden problems.
I sincerely hope this one is one of the "instant connection" places (like my mother's church) and not the latter (like one of the places in their cluster).
Still... I'm biased by my natural distrust of organized religion, so I'd be starting to feel "pushed" - but maybe that's just my personal heebie-jeebies.
Fingers crossed for ya.

There are enough people here warning you to examine their "product" and not just their enthusiasm, so I'll go the other way and say that I'm glad to see that they're not hiding their light under a basket.
