Pretty much who I say I am.

Nope. Not at the moment. I think we could become friends, but it would be an interesting process because we're so different.

We have not met.

What social event or place would you like to go to with me?
Hmmm. Your acceptance of, oh, say, a nebula award. Yes, I think that would be nice. I could lurk in the background and grin a lot.

Good heavens. Um, if circumstances so indicated I might give you a peck on the cheek, I suppose. Somehow, I don't think that's what this question had in mind, but nevermind about that.

Describe me in one word.
Hardworking. (At everything.)

What was your first impression?
That you were frazzled, stressed, and at that time unhappy, but not without the potential to be quite happy at times. However, I should point out that my first impressions are notoriously inaccurate, and I have learned not to put much faith in them.

Do you still think that way about me now?
No, I think you actually have a much better balance going - even if it is a bit of a tightrope balance - than was immediately apparent.

What reminds you of me?
Lord of the Rings quotes taken out of context, anything combining the concepts of ice and fish or palaces, people who enjoy gardening but plant very different gardens from me, and people successfully struggling with being an involved and good parent and accomplishing other things in their lives, at the same time.

If you could give me anything what would it be?
A persistant sense that there will be enough time. For whatever.

How well do you know me?
Not very well at all. I only know you through this journal, and I haven't even been reading that for all that long.

When's the last time you saw me?
Never.

Once or twice. The urge passed, though.

I believe at a mutual friend's birthday party. I saw you at Minicon before that, but I don't think we actually spoke. If we did, it wasn't much.

I would hug you if you wanted hugging, but I am not a social kisser. My godfather's girlfriend alarmed me by air-kissing me on either side of my face when we were introduced. I try not to alarm people that way.

Juggling? (One word will almost never do.)

What was your first impression?
What counts as first? By the time I first met you in person, it was, "Oh, that's Peg," and I already knew too much livejournal stuff to make it feel like a first impression, because you don't jump out as startlingly unlike your lj. The first thing I remember after Wild Swans is that you were describing Sebastian Joe's orange basil sorbet in this journal, and it made me think that you were someone who knew how to enjoy things.

Do you still think that way about me now?
I think so. Sometimes it sounds like circumstances make it difficult, but you seem to manage anyway, at least so much as you share on lj.

What reminds you of me?
Sparklies like elisem makes, Winter Carnival, swans, fairy tales, Tolkien. All of the above sometimes, not every time they come up.

If you could give me anything what would it be?
Well, I'm writing you a story because of something you said in this journal ages ago. Does that count?

With the peculiar intimacy of livejournal: in some ways well and in other ways not at all.

No, you're pretty approachable, and I don't usually have urges that go beyond how well I know the person.

No, I did this meme last summer, and while I have a longer friendslist now than I did then, I suspect that mostly it would get me lots of, "Why haven't I seen you in so long and when are you coming to visit?" comments from friends I moved away from.

Not a question I can answer in so small a space as one comment.

I'd feel a bit presumptuous to claim so, but certainly positively disposed to the thought.

If we've met, when and how did we meet?

Very briefly in passing at Minicon when papersky was GoH, and again at Minicon last year, I was in a large dinner party with you and your family in the Newsroom.

What social event or place would you like to go to with me?

I think I would like to show you some of the non-Western things in the Musee de Beaux-Arts in Montreal, particularly the Inuit art. Because they are beautiful and striking and not the kind of thing one sees often and I think some of them would appeal to you a lot.

Would you kiss me?

I'm from a culture where kisses happen with reasonably close friends and family a lot, so in a context like that, if I were sure you were comfortable with it, yes; assessing other contexts would require to be able to do kinds of hypothetical I'm not.

What was your first impression?

You struck me as an interesting person obviously caring a great deal about your family and your writing and really putting your heart into both.

Do you still think that way about me now?

Definitely. Insofar as there has been a change, it is a broadening of appreciation, having read and enjoyed The Wild Swans between now and then.

What reminds you of me?

Pretty formations of ice or snow have, over the winter; also, karate.

If you could give me anything what would it be?

Eighty more hours in the week and the freedom to do what you wanted in them.

As well as I can from having read your journal this past couple of years, which I'd not call hugely well, but enough to care.
