I have no opinion whatsoever about the Michael Jackson verdict. I am sure you are all relieved.

Ms. Angelis told me tonight that I'm developing good technique and doing well in class. A humble green belt such as myself can live on a compliment like this for a week (especially since she's a newly minted fourth degree. She looks awfully good in black).

I have listened to A Year With Frog and Toad soundtrack twenty-six times since purchasing it a week and a half ago. I need to get a life.

I seemed to have descended into a state of total torpor. I do not want to do anything productive or virtuous.

The girls are showing definite signs of sibling rivalry, very unusual. In fact, the whole house has reeked of extreme angst in the past week. I don't want to go into further detail for the time being. I told Rob I pitied him, having to deal with all these prickly and temperamental women. He told me it's all right, since he's very good at it. Which is true.

It is raining. Again. Theoretically, I should be annoyed, but I'm rather glad, because it means I don't have to pull out the hose to water the garden.

There is nothing in me tonight that is capable of writing. Perhaps I will go out to the porch to watch the rain for awhile.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like your studio does belts in different order than my old one. What is it for yours?

black, first degree, and the degrees go up from there. I'm green, the girls are purple.

oho. Yeah, at our studio it's white, yellow, purple, orange, blue, green, red, red-black, black, and then degrees, etc., with three stripes per color (one blue, one red, one yellow) before one can move up to the next level. So I was a little confused at first, because being a green belt here can sometimes take a looooong time, and I didn't seem to remember that you've been taking karate for two or three years. Thanks for clearing that up :)

Oh, for a porch to sit on during a rain storm! I love rain and storms and would enjoy that to pieces. (Note to self: make sure to include roofed area in backyard landscaping dreams/plans.)
