For those of you who missed the Harry Potter panel I was on at the U this week (and even for those who saw it), you will probably find this article on young adult fantasy quite interesting. (Note to David: we'll probably want to get Terri to join us if we ever do a panel like that in the future).

Terri Sutton has written a great deal of good stuff and a number of utterly brilliant things. She's the one writer I search for in the table of contents of any local publication. I hope and expect to find her doing work in larger markets too, since she clearly deserves it, but until then, she's at the top of my list of Unsung Local Treasures.

Let's put it this way: If I had a small amount of money in my pocket and could afford to buy either a book by Gene Wolfe or a book by Terri Sutton (if there were such a thing), but not both, I'd buy the Sutton. (I'd come back next week and buy the Wolfe too, most likely, though.)
