I watched a documentary yesterday that showed a flag outside a rural new England post office lowered a few days after 11-Sep-01, so while I wasn't certain this had happened then, I am convinced of it now.

K. [amazed that this was done to show respect for the hurricane dead, but not for Renquist. I mean, keerist, one act is mandated by the flag code, the other is not]

Well, gosh. I was going to say, regarding the first one, that they left off the bit where he says, "And I had to lower it for Rehnquist, anyhow, but then people reminded me about that hurricane business so I figured I'd better make it officially about that." But it seems I really don't need to say anything...

Interesting that this proclamation was dated the same day as Rehnquist's death. Hmmmmmm.........
