Today, the New York Times investigates the Christian conservatives' fifth column: Penguins. Turns out conservatives have become unlikely champions of the documentary "March of the Penguins," saying, among other things, that the film promotes monogamy and family values. Clearly, no one has told them about the gay penguins (of course, they choose to be gay).

-- Mother and Father divorcing as soon as the kids are teenagers.
-- Abandoning your children before they're fully adult
-- Standing idly by while predators attack the neighborhood kids
then, yes, this is a perfect family values movie. I don't think the movie did a particularly good job of selling its own internal theme of being a "love story", let alone making a good conservative statement.
