You know, I think I've finally had my fill of giving cookies to the Midwest for turning back laws or proposed laws that never should have seen the light of day in the first place.

Good lord, I'm not defending Kansas. You're right, it should never have passed in the first place.

I'm just trying to find a flicker of hope, somewhere, occasionally, when it feels in general as though this entire country is doing its best to try to march itself back to the Dark Ages.

Oh, agreed. Sorry, I wasn't aiming that at you at all. It's just ... why do we good people have to work so hard and take such grief just because of the Pharisees out there. We should be tired from improving the world, not just undoing someone else's misery.
