Here's a chap who can think creatively. Wow. Imagine raising close to a million dollars in four months, all from one extremely simple idea.

See the page here.

I admire him for thinking of it -- but it's basically a scam, the people paying him money receive no value that I can find. Still, it's highly voluntary, so I admire him for finding a way to separate suckers from their money.

There have been, of course, a million ripoffs, including free versions. This is one of those cases where you have to be first to make money, there's no money available to later players.

I admire him for thinking of it precicely because it is a scam.

But it's only a scam the first time; after that it's a dumb also-ran idea. BUt he got there first.

The article cites one of his advertisers as saying that they actually did get more click-throughs from their ad there than through some other means. An original gimmick that generates a lot of interest does offer some real value in terms of marketing.

Wish I'd thought of that. Nice way to generate retirement savings. (g)

Gawd, I never dreamed I would be more interested in getting $1 million to save for retirement so I could retire early and write full-time, instead of to spend on all sorts of Neat Stuff. *shakes head sadly*
