Daffodils

Last night there was a gathering for minnehaha k's birthday. To celebrate, she and B. decked the house with 500 daffodils, which is becoming her birthday custom. Lovely! It was amazing how 500 daffodils can lift the spirits.



Also in attendance were laurel, kaustin, jbru, daedala, elisem, 90_percent_sure, alisgray, markiv1111, eileenlufkin, kalikanzeros, pameladean, carbonel and more. B. and K. had ordered the cake from Wuollets -- and then forgot to pick them up before they closed, and so had to buy back up birthday cakes from Cafe Latte. Not bad for backup birthday cakes! The chocolate one especially tasted good with the ginger ice cream that daedala had brought. I talked with elisem about the gemology courses she has been taking, and with markiv1111 about writing. While I was in the kitchen, someone asked me about the dent in my head I'd mentioned in my LiveJournal recently, and I good-humoredly allowed several people to feel my head to ascertain that it was really there, and gasp. This may be a good party trick in years to come.

Overheard in the kitchen (from 90_percent_sure "I have jar of rotten cat teeth. This probably isn't good.")
