Thank you all so much for taking the time to send Fiona descriptions of all your various jobs. We received dozens of replies, from a wonderful range of people. Some jobs I'd never heard of before! We really appreciate your kindness in taking a few minutes from your busy days (and some of you are REALLY busy) to give us a window into your lives. This project was successful beyond our wildest dreams, and so much fun! I plan to send a copy of the replies to Fiona's teacher, with the suggestion that she might like to share them with other children in her classroom.

Cheers,
Peg

I hope it's not too late, for some reason I didn't see the "by tomorrow night" part:P I emailed you mine because I couldn't fit it. It's a university student profile, I hope that's alright. ^_^

It was kinda fun to think about how I might describe my job to someone of Fiona's age. (Or my perception of what her age is. I'm guessing 9?)

Argh! I was going to send one and forgot. Oh, well. Maybe next year, eh?

I'm so glad she got a lot of responses. I regretted that I didn't have a job to tell her about. LOL. I saw the post of John's LJ and I knew you'd get a bunch. I love Fiona's name, BTW.

Wow. That's just amazing.

Is there a children's non-fiction book in here somewhere?

Well, just randomly popping back in here as I replied to the job post. It was really great to read all of that as I'm still in school and it also showed me what sorts of jobs are out there. Also, I got to interview my mum about her old job at the airport which was extremely great. :)

I very much enjoyed reading all the responses. I didn't respond myself, since I did last year and my job hasn't changed. But I think it can be very gratifying to be asked to talk about oneself and one's occupation like that, so the benefit goes both ways.

That's exciting, and fun that you got all sorts of people to reply through your journal. I got to take a break from homework to read journals and reply to that (score!) because it was helping with her project.

it was FUN!

I'd never looked at my jobs quite like that before... Glad to help Fiona out! And learn about myself at the same time!
