One of the attorneys at my office has a new touch pad IBM, and he was demonstrating it to his secretary and me. He can handwrite with his mouse/pen, and his words appear in typewritten form. "It's made to put me out of a job," his secretary said ruefully. Which is quite true.

Handwriting is something like 1/4 as fast as typing, so I doubt it'll ever make real inroads.

It was the glowing orange-yellow-red lava blobs that did for me. Everything else was cool, but that could keep me mesmerized for hours.

Won't display anything for me, claiming (incorrectly) that I have javascript off or an out-of-date version of shockwave. Silly people (I imagine they had to spend considerable programming effort to get this to not work on my system).
