I was thinking that too; if he's going to be a role model to anyone, that he's reading Banks and Stoppard as well as Rowling seems a good thing indeed. [ I wonder which Banks he likes, and whether it's fuel for my theory that everyone should get a copy of The Wasp Factory for their sixteenth birthday ? ]
Just when I thought I could not adore the boy any more, he goes and does something like this, thus proving himself just as much of a fanboy as any of us. Blowing fifty grand on a family tree ain't nothing. I know it's kind of a pittance to him, but still.
