I have an easier time with short pieces myself, because I'm better of thinking about scenes and moments, but not always the *entire* story. But you have to take more care to make it clear what's going on, implied before (and sometimes after) the moment you present.

As for your posts -- I don't always comment, but I find them always interesting. I like hearing about day-to-day family life, so I have some idea of what I'm getting myself into with kids, once they get past the 'baby' stage. I like hearing about your creative process. And everyone needs to have a place to vent if they've had a bad day. (How's your head?)
