The weather was stunning: over 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The promise of spring was so intoxicating that the girls and I drove downtown to Marshall Fields to see the spring flower show, which was called "Flower Fairies," based on the drawings that sprung nearly a century ago from the imagination of London illustrator Cicely Mary Barker. You can read about the show here. You can see a slide show about how the fairies were made here if you have RealPlayer. The fairy sculptures are set inside a fantasy garden, with full-size trees and flowers, designed by the London florist Paula Pryke and created by Bachman's flowers in the 8th floor auditorium:

Sending my spring wishes out to you all.

Cheers,
Peg

I've loved the Flower Fairies for years (was just sorting through pictures to put on my walls yesterday, and the Willow Fairy is near the top of the pile); this exhibit sounds absolutely wonderful! Just another reason to miss Minneapolis, I guess. Thanks for posting about it!
