It was pretty funny. That said, I think his show is consistently funnier -- his standup was a little off his usual pace. I get the feeling that he felt just a little intimidated.

I was wildly impressed. I originally read a transcript of the event put up by a diarist at Kos's site, and one of the comments really stuck with me. "I just hope Colbert's wife isn't a clandestine CIA agent."

I'm not surprised that his voice was a bit fainter than it is on the show and that his timing might have been a trifle off once or twice. Bush deserves to have those things said to his face, but being the one to do so -- oy.
