Lovely. My allergies have finally started ebbing, bringing an end to five weeks of coughing. And just in time to celebrate, I have come down with a lovely summer cold.

And to add insult to injury, I am having a tremendous flare up of acne. I am forty-six fricking years old. There is no excuse for this. None.

Oh, except for my usual excuse whenever I have acne. I blame George W. Bush.

Now that you mention it, my face has been worse since he's been in office. Damn the man.

I find I break out when I'm getting sick -- a case of my immune system not being able to handle things properly. In my case, it's usually a sinus infection...

Yes, adult acne is especially cruel. Becoming an adult hasn't been nearly as much fun as I thought it would be. I was so hoping that as I moved into my thirties, my hair vanishes, and my flesh settles that I could finally leave my teenage acne behind, but no... it marches on unchecked.

I have an acne flare up too. I was blaming my falling off the low-carb wagon, but I think I'll blame the Shrub instead. Much more satisfying.

Can I blame George Bush for my acne too? I'm 39 and wondering when the hell its going to quit. This week I broke out on my *neck*! Ack!

Hey, stress is hard on one's immune system, and the stress caused by that maniac's notions of, well, anything at all, is tremendous.

Hope you feel better soon.

I never had much of a problem with acne as a kid, and I don't seem to be having problems with it now. I am trying to my face pretty clean though. What with using the sunblock I'm supposed to use (and I slid off that wagon for a bit recently...), it seems to pick up a lot of dirt, plus shaving my neck is a problem. My brother has a skin condition where he can't shave, or the skin on his neck breaks out.

So, anyway, I'm washing my face with Witch Hazel every morning and night.

I guess my big worry is that I end up with the dark circles my mother had later in life. I mean, raccoon-strength circles.

Of course, I never had myself for a kid, so...

I forgot to add...
