My experience has been that some conservatives' reactions to lifeboat situations is to deny that the situation actually exists. I remember a woman who had a lifethreatening pregnancy crisis (HELLP) and had to abort a much-wanted pregnancy that she'd struggled for years to achieve. Some of the commenters on her blog explained to her that she didn't *really* need an abortion, that something could have been done to save the baby.
Personally, I'd prefer to die of an overdose of morphine than starve to death, or die of dehydration. And from all I have heard, this was based on discussions medical personally had at the time, magnified and probably distorted by the rumor process. It may just be another Republican strategy to distract from the fact that *their* neglegence killed hundreds if not thousands, and left millions up the creek without a paddle quite literally.
Why has it taken this long to indite if there were deliberate overdoses administered? Analyzing tissue to see if there was an overdose of morphine wouldn't take 10 months.
I wonder if the people charged are Democrats. (satire)
