It reached 103 degrees Fahrenheit today. Tomorrow it is anticipated to reach 102. We do not have central air, and although the window air conditioners have been laboring all evening, they are outmatched for the task. I have taken two cool down showers already tonight already but am already covered with sweat glistening again and am contemplating taking a third.
It was good to see the girls again, and they had a great time this weekend, going camping with my sisters. But they both became utterly unglued due to the heat tonight. Many tears, and up late past their bedtimes.
*sigh* They will be monsters in the morning.

Date: 2006-08-01 05:21 am (UTC)Having just been through the record heat wave out here, I have a tip and that is: a wet t-shirt and a fan. You can just soak a shirt in the sink and wring it out, or do it the traditional way and have someone throw a bucket of water over you. 8-) Either way, it really, really helps.
Hope it gets cooler soon!
