Oh, that's typical Katzenstein and Keohane. One's a neocon, the other's a neoliberal, and neither of them can get it into their thick heads that it doesn't matter whether they (or you, or I) think that the anti-Americanism in ABC country is valid or not valid -- it's that the ABCians think it is. Where's their conclusion, other than saying "wah wah wah, it's unfair that people don't like us! Don't hate us because we're beautiful!", rationalising the Bush administration position that They Hate Our Freedom rather than analysing the ways in which the administration could stop, draw out or mitigate its activities to minimise their negative impact on world anti-Americanism.
Sorry, this stuff really makes me snarl. Then again, so does the Hoover Institution, so there we go.
