Shoes and socks

I counted seven holes in the pair of socks I was wearing today and one hole in my shoe.

Clearly, it is high time for me to get more footwear.

I don't get holes in mine; they just lose their elastic, so it looks like I'm wearing anklets. I went on a sock shopping spree yesterday at Kohls . . . huge sale, 50% off most socks.

Yup. It's the sort of thing I can avoid all summer long (I live barefoot or in sandals), but when the cold rains come it's something to have to think about.

I can only wear wide-toed shoes now. (Birkenstocks would be nice. I buy the cheap imitations but they don't seem to last long.) Shoe shopping is not something I enjoy.
