I've never bought a tarot deck, although I've always been interested in them. I like using this site occasionally.

But I think if I ever bought a set, I'd get this one, the Fairytale Tarot. It's beautiful, and of course, I adore fairytales. Saw it at the Endicott Studio site ([livejournal.com profile] endicottstudio).

One more thing to go on my Amazon wishlist!

My understanding was that buying them for oneself was supposed to be ungood, and that one is really supposed to receive them as gifts. [ This falls under the heading of "no, I don't believe in it, but that's no reason to be metaphysically rude." ]

Indeed?? Interesting. Well, as I have never bought a tarot deck before and don't know much about it, I wasn't aware of that!

Well, if anyone wants to buy one for me, there's the Amazon wishlist link!

I am mad for a Morgan Tarot, with the Do Wacky Do card. Alas, I do not know where to get one.

K. [Sharon has one, and my envy is extreme]

Wow, that's a gorgeous deck, Peg. I'm tempted by it myself!

Lovely....

...and perhaps especially useful because it doesn't shy away from the dark parts -- the "Close the book, we don't want to hear any more" parts.

One I find especially useful and beautiful in a totally different way is the Haindl deck. The majors correspond with the mythology of four great cultures, and the deck can be used for I Ching, astrological tarot, etc.; but it is also a dark deck. The artist's fears for the environment are woven through the deck. Not for the depressed.

(I find it interesting that my own deck went walk-about and has yet to show up while unpacking. I know I have it -- but only my other deck has yet surfaced.)

Do you have your Amazon wish list set up so that people can send you things that *aren't* on your list? There's a thing that I'd wanted to send you, but I couldn't figure out how to ship to your address (which I don't have, of course) instead of mine.

I don't know if there's a way to set up my Amazon list for that, but if you need an address, you can use

The most beautiful tarot deck in the universe is the Russian Tarot. It's available on that site, look at it! They're lovely. Little glowing works of art.
