As someone who did a regular HS program (albeit private) and APs, I wanted to say congratulations and, if she goes there, what an awesome choice you will have made. All of my IB friends felt extremely well prepared for college and, at least at my school, IB gives you better chances of admission. :) Congratulations Fiona!

YAY!! That's so great!

I went IB too - best two years of my schooling 'career'. It suited me so much better than the ordinary Danish schooling system, and I loved having classmates from all over the world.

Whee!

That is AMAZING news. I had one friend who did IB - and although he was slightly odd anyway (Goth Sikh) he said it was an amazing program and he had no regrets doing it. AND he got a pile of first year Uni credits.
Congratulations to Fiona - and to you and Rob for producing such a talented and intelligent young lady.

Oh, congratulations! I did IB in high school, and I'm so glad I did. The classes were challenging and stimulating, and I definitely feel like I got an education that was both broader and deeper than other students my age. Also, an IB diploma will do wonders for scholarships (a good friend of mine won a full ride to USD), and if Fiona takes the AP tests as well, it also eliminates some of the redundant general ed she'll do as an undergrad.

Nifty! Congrats!

If my dad took me to school on a given day, he would always say, "Have fun and learn something." Hope this program makes both much easier.

Oh yea!!! That's fantastic! My school had an AP program, not IB, but those programs are so great, especially for getting silly undergrad requirements out of the way. Not that that is a huge concern now, but still, go her!!!

Congratulations, since this is obviously a Good Thing, but .... I must be the only one here who doesn't know what IB *is*. My high school had AP classes (Advanced Placement) but that doesn't sound like quite the same thing, since those were for specific subjects instead of a comprehensive program. Someone fill me in please?
