still no e-mail. I am on YM if anyone needs to reach me desperately, or leave me a comment.

Real life is not the best right now. Nothing particularly dramatic, just some particularly TIGHT belt-tightening till payday, messy house, hard disk crash means no e-mail, flat tire, routine stress at work, that sort of thing.

No writing this week. No exercise either. No surprise.

Breathe, Peg. Just breathe.

*hugs gently to help Peg just breathe*

All the best for getting through the week.

I know, sweetie. Hang in there, and try not to fret. I love you. But I'm not -- you know the rest.:g:.

I have no idea what Kij was going to say, but I think I agree with her "but." There are a lot of "buts" in all of that.

Just breathing is enough.

In other news, I have read my first taste of your work. The Wild Swans was wonderful! Thank you so much for writing it.

If you're interested, my review is the second entry at the following link.

Web-based e-mail

I finally caved and paid ten bucks for a year of ad-free service on mail.com, because I currently do not have internet service at home, partly due to finances and partly due to not having an internet-worthy PC. (If anyone knows how to find a compatible power supply for an emachines piece o' crap PC, please let me know.) With web-based e-mail, I'm not dependent on using one particular computer. The only downside is that you have to watch the volume so you don't exceed the storage limit.

BTW, some web-based e-mail allows you to check your ISP's e-mail; that might be an option, at least till you get your computer fixed.

Can't remember if I mentioned, but I'm sorry to hear about your need to return to full-time work, when you'd probably rather ditch the day job altogether ;-) and write full time. Do you have any alternatives (e.g., working a different schedule so that you and your husband aren't both gone at the same time) that would reduce your day care costs? Just a thought; I'm a compulsive problem-solver. ;-)
