I was up past 1:00 a.m. burning some of the music CDs I'm going to bring to give away at Minicon (the "Hope" collection, only a rather small subset of my entire playlist, and the "Drinking Songs" collection. How many should I bring? I'm planning on giving away to dreamshark, barondave and minnehaha. Anyone else? Be warned, I won't be able to make an infinite number of copies. kijjohnson, I'll also make copies to bring for you when I see you next week.) Then I failed to set my alarm properly, so instead of getting up at 6:00 a.m. as I'd planned, I woke up at 8:04 a.m. I'm supposed to be at work at 8:15 a.m.

I was at my desk, five miles away, by 8:34 a.m. I even have some makeup on. I actually beat all five of my attorneys into the office. The slugs.

I don't know about you, but personally I find this pretty damn impressive. I will admit I cheated and used the car. (sorry, johnridley). Well, I was planning on driving today anyway, since I'm leaving early for the convention.

(By the way, everyone should pop on over to congratulate johnridley at his LiveJournal. He just rolled over 10,000 miles on his bicycle. Definitely, he's my role model. I may get a bicycle odometer myself.)

I traded one "Hope" CD to Dave already, and I'm bringing 5 or 6 more copies, plus whatever extras I have of earlier compilations. If there are more people who want to trade than you have CDs, I guess you just have to look at their songlists and pick the ones you like the best. This whole thing isn't really well organized, I'm afraid. :-)

Right now I'm correcting the numbering on the song list and reprinting the CD inserts on the ones I'd already made. *sigh*

Thanks. I darn near drove today. I worked from home yesterday due to a dentist appointment and kids home, and memories of Wednesday's ride were still fresh in my mind; 26*F with a 25 MPH headwind with 40 MPH gusts. In general, kind of miserable.
But this would be the first time in over a year that I'd driven to work without a really good reason (2 days the bike was broken, I gave myself that). Then I remembered that I'd be rolling 10K today, and that was enough to get me in the saddle. Happily the wind was pretty much gone this morning. The cold is nothing without the wind.

I made six, have traded with dreamshark and carbonel (who wanted in, but no one saw her LJ post on the subject). I can make more tomorrow if need be, but I'm also bringing various Drinking Mix and Shockwave CDs, so I'm probably covered for today.
