We're back from the hospital. Surgery went smoothly in the predicted amount of time. Peg seemed surprised at the amount of nausea and pain post-op. We stayed at the hospital about three hours before she figured out they would keep her overnight if she didn't start making preparations to leave, and she didn't want that to happen. We got her home and poured her into bed. She woke up for broth and the next round of pain meds and made me tell everyone how she's doing. She thanks you all for your support and will probably post for herself tomorrow morning.

Sends positive thoughts of recovery your way!

Too funny that you had Rob post for you - I've thought of giving my hubby the instructions of needing to post if I were in an accident or something. :)

Feel better soon, Peg!

The times I have had general anaesthesia, it has totally knocked me on my ass. I've felt much better the next day, after fully sleeping it off.

Didn't do gallstones --

-- but I have done the "pump the belly full of gas" biz, and I shall pass on that:

1) Your shoulder will probably hurt a LOT -- the gas pushes up that way, and

2) Walking does seem to get rid of the gas faster. You don't have to go nuts with it, just try to walk a bit morning and evening.

Sending you healing thoughts!

Thanks for the update. I read this last night from my cell phone, and appreciated knowing all went well.

Peg seemed surprised at the amount of nausea and pain post-op.

Well, yes, pre-op she seemed to think she'd be biking around the Lakes post-op within 48 hours. ;-) Get her out on the porch ASAP and let the Doing Nothing commence!

Hope she feels better soon.
The nausea was probably from the anaesthetic.

Get better soon, Peg!

When Dorothy Heydt had that operation, with keyhole surgery, she described the scars as looking as if she'd been bitten by a vampire pixie. I'm just passing this on to amuse you!
