Is there anyone interested in taking a fragile post-surgical Peg out for a little bit this evening? It would be a definite mitzvah. Friday night is my usual night out, and I'd like to escape the house for a little while. Because of the Vicodin, I can't drive, and obviously, no alcohol or rock climbing will be involved. I probably wouldn't want to make it a very late evening. Suggestions (low budget)? I might be up for a quiet evening at a coffee shop listening to some pleasant music, and conversation with a friend. Other ideas?

Edited to add: [livejournal.com profile] carbonel has come up with a group of friends who will be gathering together with me tonight. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] carbonel!

Cabin fever is the first sign of beginning to heal! Don't rush it. I remember wanting to go shopping in a wheelchair after my big surgery, but I was too shy to ask. Good for you for putting the request out there, and I wish I could be the one to take you up on it.

Take it slow, my child, take it slow.

I'd love to. But, well, I'd've had to have left, um, yesterday sometime.

A movie might be another option, or just a little drive around and some time away. Either sounds like a good time to me. If I can get away for a few hours this evening, I'll give you call.

I'm so glad things have turned out to work out, Peg. The fact that my house is only five blocks from yours could have put me in a good position to help, but Friday night my band virtually always has gigs, and tonight's gig is in Jordan -- probably not your cup of tea at all, and far too far away to drive. Keep us posted, and maybe I'll be able to put my 2 cents in and/or show up to help, next time. ("Help" isn't really the right word -- something more synonymous to "be there" would be closer.) Louie and I might want to come over and play you a game of Scrabble, if the timing were right.

If I didn't have to work tonight, I would have been happy to figure something out, and/or join in. I am able to drive (stick, no less); I just don't own a car anymore.

Anyway, have a good time tonight and TAKE IT EASY!!!!!
