I was at work all day yesterday, and I thought I was doing so well. It did not seem so bad; it was a very quiet day. I went to work again today, but it did not go nearly as well. Within forty-five minutes, I felt so unwell that I decided I would be leaving at noon. And so I did.

I have been quite queasy and exhausted all day. I slept for a couple of hours this afternoon, but I do not feel much better.

I can only hope that I will be somewhat improved tomorrow.

I'm sorry hon. It's just so easy to overdo it. Take care of yourself and get better.

Love you.

I have been wondering how your first day at work went. I was downtown this afternoon, walking along Washington Avenue, and as I waited to cross Portland I thought, hey, Peg bikes down this road. And then I thought, duh, she's not going to be biking TODAY. And I wished you well.

Please take it as slow and easy as you need to. No guilt. And have someone bring you a bowl of ice cream, or yogurt if you prefer. Something cold and soothing for a summer's day. ;-) Take care.

After my gall bladder surgery, it took me a good month or more before I really felt half-way human again. Take it easy, dear, and don't push it.

Wow!

You're having a much harder time with this than I am. My GB surgery was on June 4th and I feel almost normal now. I run out of steam after about 6 hours and have to take a rest, but I haven't had a painkiller since Friday. Mind you, I haven't done anything at all strenuous since the day of the operation.

Maybe you should see your doctor again? Can you take the rest of the week off to recuperate some more?

I hope you feel better soon.

That's the tricky thing about recovering from surgery. You feel pretty okay, so you go out and do stuff, and only much later do you realize you overdid it. My surgeon told me "Stop about halfway through."

Hey, it's not so bad: it took me three full weeks at home (with an abortive day at work after two weeks) to recover from gall bladder surgery. You're doing great! It's not a straight-line improvement, just like everything else about being a human: you'll have good days and bad, but the ratio will favor good until one day you'll have completely forgotten about it.

Sorry you're feeling so punk, but what happened to staying home for 2 weeks as per Human Resources? Afraid you're overdoing.
