Delia is quitting karate
Jun. 18th, 2007 07:46 pmfor now. Much agony went into this decision. You have no idea how much agony. Many tears were shed. (There is other stuff going on with Delia that I have not talked about in this journal. It is Being Dealt With, with outside help, as best as we can.) Sensei has told her that of course it doesn't have to be permanent. She is so ridiculously talented that she can come back, even years later, and will be able to pick up quite quickly where she left off.
I have been talking with sensei about assuming her contract--in other words, I would resume lessons next month. I will be thinking very hard about this over the next week.
Absolutely no advice at this point, if you please. Except for some people I'll be speaking with privately, you don't know everything that's going on, and so if you try, I swear as God is my witness, you will be shot with a howitzer.
