At J.K. Rowling's site there is a lovely author's note posted today, bidding farewell to the series and thanking those who have helped her shepherd it to this final day. Click on the eraser, and then open the door to read it.

Not specifically apropos of anything in particular, prince_corwin has been posting a book-by-book analysis of the series in strict Joseph Campbell terms, some of which has been quite interesting and I thought might be worth your attention; first two books on June 19th and 26th, 3, 4 and 5 in the last couple of days, and he intends to do them all.
