Sounds like fun! Remind me again closer to the event, as I'm still recovering from Convergence. Do they have CDs?

Yes, they do have CDs, and they sell them at their concerts. Here is their website and here is their MySpace page, where you can find samples of their songs.

Here's something else they're doing that's pretty cool: the Wizard Rock EP of the Month club:
For each month of 2007, we will be releasing an exclusive CD from a totally awesome wizard rock band. Members in the club will receive 2 CDs at a time, at six different points in the year. The cost to join the club will be $50 for the year and includes all 12 CDs, plus some cool bonus stuff, I'm sure. Subscriptions will be limited to approximately 750 copies.

The membership fees will be used to cover all costs associated with producing and distributing the CDs to members. After that, all remaining proceeds will be donated to First Book, a non-profit organization that gives children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. If we are able to sell all 750 subscriptions, we should raise close to $10,000 for this charity!

That's part of the reason why I like this group so much, even though the music isn't exactly setting the world on fire with professionalism or originality. They see their mission as having fun and promoting reading (they play a lot of their concerts in libraries). And as the granddaddy of all Wizard Rock bands, they have set the stage and done a lot to help and promote all the groups that followed.

Do come. Their concerts are really a lot of fun.

I don't know how easy it will be to find you and the girls -- I'm guessing there will be a bit of a crowd, and I've never been to that park before -- but [livejournal.com profile] jemby (my sister) and I are tentatively planning on being there. It sounds like fun, and a good way to get me through the night at work!

More wizard rock!

Hi! I'm linking around being picspammy tonight. Seems like I saw you mention the Remus Lupins before. We happened to get to see them in Greeley, Colorado recently, and I did a photo essay of it:

If you go from there to my main photo essay page, there's another one from the Harry and the Potters/Draco and the Malfoys tour last summer. You can get warmed up for the upcoming concert on the 16th!

We are planning to see them in Denver in August, if all goes well. Always a great show!
