When I think about how Snape died I like to persuade myself there was a smatch of victory about it. I do NOT prefer to think that it was a thematically apt conclusion to a life of unalleviated misery and despair.

I'm not saying it wasn't that way, just that that's not how I prefer to think of it. That song makes my self-delusion MUCH MORE DIFFICULT.
