There’s an interesting article in the New York Times about Schulz and "the cult of the suffering artist" that’s worth checking out just for the illustration–Charlie Brown painted in the style of Van Gogh’s earless self-portrait. See also the New York Times' review of a new biography, (Schultz and Peanuts: A Biography by David Michaelis) here, which apparently portrays him as a depressed, ambitious, driven, bitter person who devoted himself to his cartoon children and neglected his real ones. See also Laura Miller's review in Salon.

There was also an interesting book review by Calvin and Hobbes' Bill Watterson, which I think was in the Post's Sunday Magazine. You should check that out.
