My office

My goals for this weekend were to clean up my office and to start work on the Fantasy Matters paper.

I got the first one done. In fact, my office is cleaner than it has been for months, perhaps all year. The biggest thing is that every scrap of my financial paperwork has been entered into Quicken and filed away. That was a huge undertaking. Now that the floor is picked up and vacuumed, I'll be able to exercise in here again (a good thing, now that my weight is starting to creep up again since I've stopped biking). I will be able to concentrate much better in here, and it feels welcoming in here, as it hasn't in months.

I have not started on the paper yet (plan to tonight after dinner), but I feel that I can now. I have left it a bit longer than I would have liked, but the clean office cheers me up enormously. After all, I finished the last Potter paper in much less time. I am confident I'll be able to do a good job. Perhaps I will start posting some preliminary thoughts tonight, after I've had a bit of a chance to sketch out some preliminary ideas. I need a bit more advice about source materials.

Must dash; the water is boiling for the pasta.

A clean office! Sigh. The fantasy of fantasies--you never see the good stuff on the internet.

Oh, a space of your own. Lovely.

In two weeks I'm paying somebody to make my front room and sitting room habitable again. I crave that. A better woman would do it herself, but I'm working with the woman I am, not the woman I should be.

I had a dream about you last night! I was... going somewhere, I think. And you said I could come to your house to relax during my journey. So I did, but no one was home. So I hung out in your office and checked my email, and suddenly you came home and I was embarrassed, but you were nice about it. You made me soup. And I helped Delia with her homework or something. It was so weird, because I've never met you!

But the reason I this reminded me to tell you is that your office was a mess in my dream. :D
