Are they plain metal ones? Introduce some colored ones into the office and see how far they travel.
Really. I did that with colored rubber bands once. I put a bunch of them in the common rubber band box in the mail room. When I got one back from our satellite office, I thought it was pretty cool.
Of course, that takes time and won't help with today's boredom.
