That pretty much sums up what's happened to the town I grew up in. Last year the Tanuki and I went for a walk on the back trails in the park we used to hang out in when we were teenagers. Used to be acres of trails...a few hundred yards down the path we came out onto a paved sidewalk through a golf course. It was really depressing.
