I feel as if I am in that sort of sleepy, dazed, surly it's-almost-time-to-come-out-of-hibernation-but-not-quite state that often occurs in late winter/early spring. I want to shut out the world and do nothing but read, generally bad fanfiction. And eat: I am being tormented by food cravings of the most unsuitable nature: chocolate, scones, decadent coffee drinks, Ranch Doritos, popcorn drenched with butter and Parmesan, big bowls of comforting and high caloric soup. Cream of potato. Chicken and wild rice. Whatever, I just want to eat all the time, irrespective of my weight loss goals or actual calorie needs. This is highly irritating.

What I need is to go to the dojo and hit things, but I'll probably miss tonight's lesson due to school conferences.

Maybe I should go peruse some of [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson's disgusting food of my people entries. That would probably short circuit my appetite.

Spring? Might be along sometime in the next 2-3 months, I guess.

LOL, how odd...I randomly bought and ate a bowl of oyster stew yesterday (one of the weirdest cravings I've ever had in my life) and then stayed up until 5:30am reading a fanfic, though it wasn't a bad one. I never thought to attribute this to my longing for Spring, but now that I consider it, it makes sense. I bought the soup only after getting irritated at the lack of variety of produce seeds in the lawn & garden section so I can start growing something already, dammit.

I haven't been in the mood for much fic, but I have been in the mood for fluffy, girly movies. Which I don't really get to see many of, out of respect for Other People in the house. Have been getting by on P&P installments on PBS the past few weeks.

And I've been wanting to eat nearly nonstop. Not particularly bad things, necessarily (a lot of fruit amongst the cheese-based things). Just - eat. Constantly wandering into the kitchen to nibble on something. Gah. Anyway - my sympathies.

Hang in there - spring will come eventually.

I think everyone in the Midwest is feeling this right now. Really blue, miserable, sick of winter, and either wanting to eat constantly or sleep constantly. It seems to be a precursor to every conversation I have with people lately, just the toll this winter is taking out on each of us individually. I'm having a difficult time hanging in there, but the sun (and heat) have to return sometime soon, right? I can live with snow, but this bitter cold and treacherous ice is just too much to handle much longer.
