Cell phone!

I have a cell phone again. Hurrah.

It's not just that it's been annoyingly inconvenient to be without it (although it is); it's been absolutely awful to be without one while Elinor Dashwood has been dealing with some very personal family medical stuff. My workplace is an open air cubicle, and I loathe dealing with private stuff at my desk where anyone can be walking by--I'd have much preferred to retreat to an empty office with my cell phone, and that's been impossible the past week, which has been extremely bad timing. But I have a brand new cell phone upgrade now, and boy, what a relief it is to finally have it.

Quite. At my open-cubicle, people-all-around-me office, I have been offered the use of a private office if I need to make such a call, "Don't even tell me who you're calling, just tell me you need the office for a few minutes," but of course that only works for making a call, not receiving them.
