pegkerr: (Use well the days)
[personal profile] pegkerr
Friday
Go to work.
Pay bills
Lunch with [livejournal.com profile] jbru to borrow the yoga book.
Check P.O. Box.
Come home, make dinner, taking particular pains to feed Delia well. (Fiona possibly at Corwin's overnight, working on history day project??? Note: Discuss her plans in morning before she leaves for school.) She's staying here tonight, so I drive her to school in the morning.
Drive Delia to black belt pre-screening. Arrive by 6:30 p.m. Make sure she has plenty of water. (Note: Rob will miss it; doesn't get off work until 8:00 p.m.)

Saturday
Get Fiona to high school by 8:00 a.m. for history day (discuss: do I have to pick her up or will Corwin's mother drop her off when history day is done?)
Delia doctor appointment 9:00 a.m.
No karate--no time, too much to do. Possibly go back to high school to see history day project presentations?
Buy new shoes for Delia
Go to Minn-stf meeting to discuss Super Sekrit project having to do with Minicon.
Try to squeeze in run to get mat paper supplies for soulcollaging.

Make arrangements to pick up magazines from [livejournal.com profile] mizzlaurajean, ditto. She has said she'll drop them off. Thanks!
Note: Rob can't help with any of this; works all day.

Sunday
Get girls to church. Don't forget the Girl Scout cookies that Delia has to deliver to various people there. Fiona has agreed to participate in reading. Church goes until 11:30 a.m.
Drop Delia home, race to Minnetonka by noon for meeting for Fiona's Mexico mission trip. Remember to bring forms to turn in. Make final payment for trip.
Come home. Check with Delia re: progress on her packing for school four-day trip to northern camp. Doubtless will have to run errands to pick up stuff for her to take.
Where on earth can I buy mittens in March? [[livejournal.com profile] pameladean is donating a pair and will drop them off. Thanks!] Does she have flashlight batteries? Yes. Wool socks? We'll make do with what we have Long underwear? She's borrowing a pair.
Create packing list and pack for my own retreat. Print out directions for getting there.
Clean dojo? Rob has volunteered to take my turn if necessary. Fiona and I did it
Do laundry. I have no clean socks.
Note: [all together now:] Rob can't help with any of this; works all day. If he cleans the dojo, it'll be after he gets off work.

Monday
Drop Delia off at her school at (I think?) 6:45 a.m., with all her luggage, for class trip. Don't forget to include her medication. (Double check the time)
My doctor's appointment 8:00 a.m.
Leave for retreat.

I don't think I'm going to have much time to clean up the house (which is a MESS) or balance my checkbook.

I feel . . . rather stressed.

We could drop the magazines off Saturday. We'll be out and about early anyway.

Oh, could you? That would help so much, and I would be ever so grateful. You could just leave them on our front porch. Do you have my address?

Lunch tomorrow! Have a pint with me; it'll make the rest of the day feel much less stressful.

"Where on earth can I buy mittens in March?"

I dunno if you actually wanted an answer or if this is just part of a running thought...

still...

salvation army
savers
ragstock
heck, maybe even once upon a child (I know she's not a toddler...)

Unlike regular stores that stock swimsuits in March, the second-hand stores are still trying feverishly to get rid of winter stuff to make room for the summer stuff...

good luck.
and breathe.

in one week you will be able to reconnect with yourself.

Oh. btw. re the pic of you and the girls... I am surprised that rob didn't sh*t a brick when he misplaced the cookie order form. The three of of you are a force!
...honestly, my very first thought upon seeing the pic..."Rob must be so proud of his girls."

And... I am 5 short months away from finishing the degree that I was so afraid to go back to get. I have a 3.92. I am *beaming* with pride. Thanks for your encouragement nearly a year ago. Time flies.

Our standing joke is, "Rob must be brave; he lives with three women who can kick him in the head."

I'm so glad that my encouragement helped you take the plunge, and yes, you should be proud; that's fantastic! Go you.

Mittens in March: don't waste your time at Target, they're all about bathing suits and Easter dresses right now. Walgreens might have some cheap gloves; Savers would also be worth checking.

Also check the camping equipment stores online, like Campmor, Sierra Trading Post or REI-outlet and others; they are also trying to ditch winter stock.

Peg, I've got a pair of size small woollen mittens that I've been meaning to take to Goodwill for years. They are probably heavily infested with cat dander, but you can have them if you want them. They're that oatmeal-colored ragg wool. They have a microfiber lining to reduce itchiness, and suede patches on the palms. They're too small for me, but might still be too big for Delia.

I could conceivably drop them on your porch on Sunday if necessary.

Okay, I'll bus over at some convenient time and just put them on the porch for you. I'll email you when I've done it.

We got the mittens! And Delia is thrilled with them: "They're so soft inside. And they're the right size, and they're pretty. Tell Pamela 'thank you!'"

And thank you for dropping them off for us.

Oh, good. I love that microfiber stuff -- I have some polartech mittens lined with it.

It's my mother who picked them out. She got them for my sister-in-law, but then decided that Sue should have blue ones instead. So it all works out.
