Another quotation
Oct. 15th, 2003 01:43 pmAfter a two week orgy of re-reading practically everything Lois has written, I finished up by re-reading The Curse of Chalion, the book before Paladin of Souls, which inspired my entry here. The last page includes Cazaril's prophetic blessing upon Ista, and I think it is germane:
"When the souls rise up in glory, yours shall not be ashamed nor sundered, but shall be the prize of the gods' garden. Even your darkness shall be treasured then, and all your pain made holy."
If I must feel pain and darkness, I think it would be good if at least I could wish for that.
