She baked a batch of chocolate cupcakes this afternoon and is off to Girl Scouts now. And, as if she doesn't have enough creative things to do, she has decided that she wants to start soulcollaging, too. She has already decided what her third chakra animal will be: a lioness. She also wants to do cards about her culinary interests ("one for cooking, and a separate one for baking!"), girl scouts, karate, etc. This will be a fun thing to share with her.

Except that I'm now going to be competing with her for the magazines to cut up that come into the house!

Now Rob needs to fix the scanner even sooner. BOTH of us will be leaning on him to get it done.

Ask your coworkers and neighbors to bring you their discarded magazines?

I get the New Yorker and Vegetarian Times, if either would be of any use. I have back issues of both. Maybe Vegetarian Times could distract Delia from stuff that you want to use, at least? 8-)

When I wanted to do a project at christmas, I posted on Craigslist and Freecycle requesting magazines.

I was deluged with people offering to let me pick up literally hundreds of copies of everything from Newsweek to Cosmo. I'd offered $10 and was told by the woman I finally picked stuff up from not to worry about the money.

I'm sure you don't want lots of stuff (more clutter, and all) but it might be worth doing.

Value Village Thrift Store always has magazines, generally for 69-99 cents. I would also be happy to give you our magazines rather than take them to the thrift store when we are done with them. Do you want any? What kinds?

Thanks! We will definitely and happily take any magazines off your hands. Great sources for collaging are National Geographic, Smithsonian, National Geographic Traveler, “O” Magazine, Spirituality & Health, Expression, catalogues from specialty retailers, and travel brochures, but we will find lots of useful images in other magazines, too. What subscriptions do you get?

I have some right now ready to go (if not to you, to recycling if I have cut stuff out of them and the thrift store if I haven't. This batch is mainly home-and-food-oriented. If you want them let me know cak hyphen edit at comcast dot net, and we can figure out how to transfer them. I know I also have Triple-A's Home & Away, and probably some others.

how about working digitally? There are lots of free resources (graphic editors, clipart, photos, etc). There are also lots of reasonably priced digital scrapbook resources available. Here's a link to my digital scrapbook resource page:

http://foxwiretapped.com/wordpress/?page_id=22

and here's what I've done. Not sure how it compares to soulcollaging, but I bet it's not that different.

THANKS! This list of resources will definitely be handy.

Like I've said, I'm absolutely dying for Rob to get our scanner/color printer working. He promised me he'll work on it today.
