Re: the whole Open Source Boob Touching thang/topic/kerfluffle.
Started here.
Clarified here.
Quite a few on my friends list are talking (and some are raging) about this.
I am somehow just not in the mood, I must admit, to wade through the 3,000+ comments that this particular topic has generated and I have no intention of putting my mind to crafting a thought-provoking, delicately worded, oh-so-insightful little post in response. Meh. I just can't be bothered.
But in case I need to state the obvious, just . . .don't ask to touch my breasts, thanks. Even politely. Whether you admire them or not is immaterial to me.
(And, in case you didn't know, if you don't ask first, of course, you are liable to get a well-placed elbow smash to your windpipe. So I really wouldn't recommend taking that course of action. I'm pretty sure sensei would back me up, too.)
I'm so glad we've got that cleared up. Carry on with what you were doing.
Thank you,
The Management

Date: 2008-04-23 04:03 am (UTC)(The post is probably somewhat of a failure anyway if I have to actually point out that I was partly being flippant and facetious. I'm glad I didn't put any more effort into it than I did.
Also please snote the use of the "bitchy" mood icon.)

Date: 2008-04-23 03:12 pm (UTC)Uh...OK. This is the first I've heard about anything like this. But I don't get to many cons. Except for Origins a couple years ago to meet Sean Astin. Perhaps that's why? It's a world I'm not familiar with.
(Though I'd kill to make it to at least one ComicCon! Unless there was boob touching. Then I'd have to take the nearest sword and gut someone.)

Date: 2008-04-25 10:42 pm (UTC)I'm curring nursing a toddler -- a 27 month old, that is -- and I don't consider boobs to be strictly sexual objects and don't have a problem showing boob in public.
But the "Open Boob Project"? That's outrageous. And I'm with you, the first person to touch my boobs in public gets a knee to the groin and/or a sexual assault case with their name on it. It's bad enough IMO that lately cons seem to be chock full of people exposing totally inappropriate amounts of skin, but adults groping in public is way over the line, no matter what excuse they're using.
