More chicken dispatches
Apr. 11th, 2008 03:02 pmOur story so far: The MacPhail Center had posted a riddle ("Why did the rubber chicken cross the alley?"), and after we posted our answer, ("To stretch its legs") they posted their own answer: ("To play in the RUBBER BAND at MacPhail!")
This morning's sign in our kitchen:
"Will they be a-pickin' and a-grinning?"
MacPhail's sign at noon:
"What instruments will they play in the chicken rubber band?"
Our latest answer, posted in the window this afternoon:
"Washboard, bass, squeezebox, and a fiddle!"
Stay tuned for further developments.
Edited to add: I just went into the kitchen for a cup of tea and peered over to MacPhail to see if there were any new developments. At the same moment, two people in the practice room walked up to the window to peer over at our sign. They saw me and gave me a big grin and wave, and I grinned and waved back.
Both sides are getting an absurd amount of pleasure out of this little back-and-forth game.
