Delia's third black belt pre-screening tomorrow night

Delia is going through the last pre-screening tomorrow night. If all goes well, she'll test for black belt the night of May 30.

Honestly, she's rather unsettled about this one. She had two karate classes that ended in tears this month, and that's making her freak out a bit about this screening, which will be, admittedly, really tough. The obstacles seem to be more mental than physical for her, however, and our senseis clearly believe she is ready.

I think and hope she will pass, but of course we've pointed out that if she doesn't, that doesn't mean senseis think she can't get the belt. Fiona had to go through the screening process twice, and several of the kids screening with her are on their third go-around.

Anyway, wish her courage, stamina, and luck.

I sympathize with the mental blocks. I'm running my first 5K race on Saturday, and the closer I get to it, the more convinced I am that I'll never make it. :P Much MUCH easier to believe in someone else, and I DO believe in Delia's grit. Look how well she coped at the second screening! *waves pompoms* Go Delia!

I wish her really well- that is very exciting! My husband is having his black belt exam for TaeKwonDo later this morning- He went through the phase three testing about 3 weeks ago. He just kept getting more nervous as it came closer- now he is practically vibrating! Actually- I have to leave for it now..


Three hours later... Eofn is now a 57 year old 1st degree black belt in TaeKwonDo! It hasn't really soaked in yet- he just keeps shaking his head in exhaustion and disbelief.
